Stephanie Thoms, RN
Student Midwife
Stephanie is a Registered Nurse with a decade of experience supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. Her path into midwifery began in 2011 as a community doula, where she developed a strong passion for advocacy, body autonomy, and informed choice in childbirth. Since earning her RN in 2022, Stephanie has worked in Labor and Delivery, further strengthening her clinical skills while maintaining a family-centered philosophy of care.
Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Science in Child Life and has served as a home birth assistant, gaining hands-on experience in out-of-hospital birth settings. She is deeply committed to the belief in physiologic birth and the importance of informed consent, and she prioritizes the mental and emotional well-being of the entire family unit. Her approach emphasizes education, empowerment, and collaborative decision-making so that birthing people feel supported, respected, and confident in their choices.
Outside of birth work, Stephanie enjoys time with her partner and their four children. When not at a birth, she is likely at a swim meet, hiking, or working on a DIY project.
